12/24/2023 0 Comments Ade 4.5![]() I put V3.0 on that one as well and that is where I saw the activation error. Shortly after, I retired that laptop and switched to a newer one. I had originally put it on an older laptop of mine. The more Nook owners who contact B&N about this particular problem, the more attention B&N will give it, and the sooner B&N will get it fixed so everyone can get back to normal.I don't know if I actually figured anything out but I did get the Version 3.0 to work eventually. B&N closed down its own Nook Forum back in 2017, but a phone number and email address appear at the bottom of the Nook Support page at the B&N website. Therefore, if you are having this same problem, we strongly recommend that you make B&N's Nook Support group aware of it. B&N is probably paying no attention to this forum thread at Adobe. As to people who have posted here over the past few days, we wanted to share the fact that B&N has confirmed the existence of a bug in the v53.0.113 firmware for the GLP6 (which means that the source of this particular problem is B&N and not Adobe Digital Editions). Also, B&N did not offer us any temporary fix or work-around that we could use in the meantime. ![]() B&N did not say whether they are scrambling to prepare and issue that "future" update as soon as possible, or whether they are taking a ho-hum approach and might not issue that update for several months. More specifically, the email from Nook Support included the following statement: "Based on your recent inquiry, we are aware of an issue where your nook may not be able to properly transfer side loaded content and anticipate this will be addressed in a future software update". Today, B&N sent us an email in which B&N confirms that the latest firmware update has a bug. Last week we contacted Nook Support at Barnes & Noble about this. In particular, when we check out an ebook, download it to Adobe Digital Editions, copy it to the GLP6, and then try to open it, the ebook won't open and the GLP6 displays the error message "Error opening book. But about 2 weeks ago, Barnes & Noble pushed out a new firmware update (v53.0.113), and as soon as that new firmware installed itself in our GLP6s, they both stopped working correctly with OverDrive ebooks. ![]() For the past 4-5 years, we have each been using our GLP6s to get library ebooks from Overdrive, without any problem. I will refer to this model here as the "GLP6". My wife and I each have a Nook Glowlight Plus (Model BNRV510, which has the 6" screen not the 7.8" screen). You should now be able to read the ebook on your device. After the transfer, disconnect your NOOK.You may need to disconnect and reconnect your NOOK for it to appear in ADE. Open ADE, then try transferring the ebook again. ![]() adobe-digital-editions folder and delete it. Go to Computer and open the drive associated with your device (likely named Device (X:), where X is the drive letter). The authorization window will open and show you what credentials you're currently using for your computer. Note: If this option is grayed out, please authorize your computer before continuing. In ADE, go to Help > Authorization Information. Make sure your computer is authorized with an Adobe ID or an OverDrive account.Note: We recommend always using the latest version of Adobe Digital Editions (ADE). Note: These steps don't work for the NOOK GlowLight Plus, which is authorized differently than other NOOKs. You should be able to fix the issue by resetting the Adobe credentials on your NOOK using a computer. ![]() These errors typically occur if there's a problem with your NOOK's authorization. I was able to get the solution to this issue from my local library and it worked for me: ![]()
